Censworth presents UK vehicle licensing statistics — how many of each exotic, classic and collector vehicle are currently licensed or subject to a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) — sourced from data published quarterly by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We filter and curate this data down to collector-relevant makes and models, and present it with historical trend information.
Censworth is not a vehicle history check. It does not provide, and should not be relied upon for, information about any individual vehicle’s registration plate, VIN, mileage, MOT history, accident history, outstanding finance, or write-off status. For that, you should use a dedicated vehicle-specific check service.
Data is refreshed each quarter, in line with DVLA’s own publication schedule, and may not reflect the most recent registrations, SORN declarations, or licence changes. We take reasonable care in filtering and presenting this data accurately, but we do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose, and we accept no liability for decisions made in reliance on it — including valuation, purchasing, insurance or cataloguing decisions. Figures are aggregate population counts by make and model; they are not verified against, and should not be treated as equivalent to, an individual vehicle record.

Current pricing is shown on Censworth’s subscription screen at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. Payment is processed securely by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details.
Your right to cancel: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days from purchase to cancel a digital subscription without giving a reason. By subscribing and choosing to access paid content immediately, you agree that we may begin supplying the service straight away, and you acknowledge that your right to a full refund may be reduced in proportion to the service already provided if you cancel before the 14 days end.
How to cancel: Use the “Manage subscription” link shown at the top of The Register once you’re subscribed, which takes you to a secure Stripe-hosted page where you can cancel or update your payment details at any time, with no need to contact us. If you have any trouble, you can also email mail@michaeljamesautomotive.com.
You may view and use Censworth for personal or internal business reference. You may not scrape, systematically extract, republish, resell, or redistribute data obtained from Censworth in bulk, or use automated tools to access the service, without our prior written agreement — this includes data obtained via the API. If you need bulk or systematic data access, please contact us about a data licence.
Vehicle licensing figures are public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, sourced from DVLA vehicle licensing statistics. The curation, filtering, categorisation and presentation of that data is our own work and remains the intellectual property of Michael James Automotive Ltd.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Subject to that, Censworth is provided on an “as is” basis, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost business opportunities.
We may update these terms, our pricing, or the service itself from time to time; we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers of material changes by email. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these terms, in particular the acceptable use section above.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
register_access is set on your browser after a verified payment, so you don’t need to log in on every visit. It doesn’t identify you personally beyond granting access on that device.We use this data to provide the service, process payment, respond to support requests, and meet our legal obligations. We share data only with the processors needed to run the service — currently Stripe (payment) and Vercel (hosting) — under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. To do so, email mail@michaeljamesautomotive.com. If you’re unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
